{4th of July}

The 4th of July celebration for us began the night of the 3rd.   Gunnison City, for the last couple of years, have held a concert at the Gunnison High School football stadium.  This year Restless Heart was lined up to  perform! We got the football field early to get good seats and to get a treat before the show started.

It is always so fun to be with family this time of year.  We were lucky enough to have Rick and Kallie up from St. George to celebrate with along with Grandpa Rod and Grandma JoAnn.    It was awesome!

Restless Heart put on an awesome show.  They sang some of their top hits like, 'When She Cries', 'The Bluest Eyes In Texas', 'We Got The Love' and 'As Far As I Can Tell'.    I loved hearing so many of their songs that I remember being number one songs while I was growing up.  The concert was well attended and everyone enjoyed this fun evening.

After the concert, we enjoyed an great show of fireworks.  McKenna, Trey, and Ally liked watching the fireworks go off that shot out like different shapes and colors in the sky.  Tyra hated the fireworks, and snuggled up to Jeremy and put herself right to sleep.  The grand finale of fireworks was well worth the wait!  This ended up be an fun night and a great way to start off our holiday!

The day of the 4th was so fun this year.  Our morning started out by getting up early to get ready for the parade.  The kids and I were up early enough to get ready and paint their faces.  At 8:30 am, we were sitting on main street patiently waiting for the parade to start.  This year, McKenna danced with Dance Works and did such a great job performing during the parade route.  Luckily enough for her, she was one of the very first entries in the parade so she was able to walk to where we were sitting to watch and catch candies with the kids.  It has been a fun tradition to sit with the Grandma Loraine, the Blackburns, and the Frischknechts at the parade.  Our kids love being with their cousins!

Trey {8}, McKenna {11}, Ally {4}, Tyra {14 mo}

After the parade, we went to Rod and JoAnn's to hang out.  Rick and Kallie took McKenna, Trey, and Ally to the park to enjoy the carnival, while Jeremy, Tyra, and I just took it easy.  After we barbequed hamburgers, Jeremy, McKenna, Trey, and I went to Richfield to watch the horse races.  McKenna and Trey loved it.  This is something that we have never done on the 4th and it ended up being something that the kids really enjoyed watching.  When we got back to town, we went as a family to Gavin and Jen Stewart's house for a barbeque.  The kids had a ball playing baseball, football, and jumping on the tramp while the adults had fun just laughing and hanging out.
