With the Christmas holiday soon approaching, Grandma JoAnn added a kick start to this excitement by putting the stuff together so each of the kids could make their own individual gingerbread houses. For these two cute cousins, Miss Ally and Miss Maddie, was more than just gingerbread houses, their included a sleepover and play time at Grandma's house. Grandma JoAnn had the two of them sleepover on the night of Thanksgiving so they could wake up and get an early start on making their own gingerbread houses. From the sounds of it, they talked and giggled all night before Grandma told them that they had to go to sleep. They woke up to a good breakfast and then they patiently waited for Grandma to get the house walls baked and all the candy out so they could get to work. They both spent hours on all the detail to make each of their houses unique. As you can see from the pictures, they are both pretty proud of their creations.
These two had so much fun working together to create these cute houses. Grandma JoAnn must have been really patient to put up with this two energetic chatter boxes!
On Sunday afternoon was when McKenna, Trey, Lottie took their turn to make their own gingerbread house. McKenna and Trey's were made out of actual gingerbread bread mix, where Lottie's was put together by graham crackers. Somehow Ally was able to talk Grandma into letting her make another, however this time it was also out of graham crackers.
All four kids loved making their own house. Each of them used their own bit of creativity in making their house fit their own personality. After they were all done, we decided it would be fun to get a picture of them all together. You have to realize that at our house to get a picture of all four kids looking at the camera, without someone pulling a crazy face is usually considered a small miracle. Well tonight wasn't about to be any different, Lottie of course was the camera clown. From the photos below, you can see what I am talking about and what we deal with on a daily basis! You gotta love it!
Finally, after about twenty pictures, I was able to capture one of them with out any face pulling, just lots and lots of giggles! I love those smiles!
Look at the final project! It made such a cute village when each house was finally complete!
Thanks Grandma JoAnn for such a fun, memorable project.
