~ New Year's Day Adventure! ~

McKenna and Trey were so excited to go on their annual ice fishing trip with Grandpa Okerlund this year to Otter Creek.  Even though it was on New Year's Day, freezing cold temperatures and having to get up really early to go, they had no hesitation about leaving.  They remembered how much fun it was last year and didn't want to miss out on this fun.  This is always so fun because Jason, Porter, Justin, Trevor, Marshall, and numerous other friends were all apart of the trip this year.  McKenna was the lucky one of the bunch to catch the first fish of the day.  She would say that is was because she was the only girl that went!    Trey ever did catch any, but he had fun slipping and sliding on the ice anyway.  Afterwards, they were able to go do some bunny hunting, which both of them enjoyed.   The most talked about part of the entire trip was the loud popping noise that they heard while out on the ice.  They said that it lasted for 15 seconds and that everybody on the ice, clear across the lake, had some sort of reaction.    The best part for me having them go is that they bring home supper!  Thanks Grandpa Don for making this such a memorable day for McKenna and Trey!
