Trey's Fifth Grade Science Fair Project
This year's GVES Science Fair, Trey's project was one of the few who won 1st place. Trey and Jeremy decided on the topic several days before the big day. On the day of the fair, Trey arrived to the school early so he could set up his display in preparation for his interview and experiment. He was interviewed by five judges at who each interview him at separate times. He was asked questions about his project and the results he got through his experiment. He said he wasn't super nervous because they seemed to be quite interested in his results.
The purpose of Trey's project was to see water is a conductor of Electricity. He found through his experiment that surprising, water is not a conductor of electricity.
This picture showed that the wires were hot and that the bulb worked outside the cup of water.
Water - Not a Good Conductor
Milk - Good Conductor of Electricity
Gatorade - Partial Conductor of Electricity
Diet Coke - Not a Good Conductor of Electricity
Lemonade - Partial Conductor of Electricity
Salt Water - Best Conductor of Electricity
As you can see, Trey did a great job. It was a team effort in getting this project done. Trey was so thankful for his dad and his expertise in helping pick out such a great topic/experiment. It definitely was a subject that we all were able to learn from. Then Trey and I worked together to get the layout and design together so make his presentation board look so professional.

Pictured are all of the First Place winners at this year's GVES Science Fair. Out of Trey's entire class of 5th Graders, there were only twelve students that scored high enough to receive 1st Place.
Way to go Trey!
