Lottie's Broken Arm

Here we go again, we are back to the ER with Lottie and another broken arm. This little gal is one tough chic, needless to say this is her second broken arm in less than two years.  Tonight's break was pretty bad, yet who would  have guessed other than to see the actual kink in her forearm that it was broke, because there were no tears to show any kind of pain.

What happened is we were all hanging out at Grandma and Grandpa's house after a long day of Grandma Loraine's funeral.  We had just eaten and all the kids, Allyson, Trey, Tripp, Krew, and Lottie all went up stairs to play.  A little while later, Lottie came just a rushing down the  stairs yelling for me, saying that she had fallen off of Grandma's couch.  I rushed to see what she needed and you could totally see an obvious break in her right arm.  I yelled at Jeremy, told him that she had broke her arm  and off to the ER where they quickly took X-rays to examine how bad of break she had.  It was a nice double fracture and due to her just eating, they were not able to set her arm back in position with food on her stomach.  Dr. Brady Blackham was the doctor on call and he made us go back home, make her comfortable and try and get some rest because they won't be able to set it until 5:30 the next morning.  Surprisingly, Lottie was able to sleep, mom and dad not so much.  But finally when morning arrived, we were up and back the ER where the anesthesiologist put her out so the doctor could set her arm.  She was so brave and did not cry one tear the entire time.  I could tell she was nervous but she showed no signs of fear at all.   About a half hour later she was awake and ready to go home.

Before we left the hospital, she was pretty adamant about making sure she got stickers to take home.  She picked out super hero stickers for her bravery.  Once we got home, she was able to spend several hours sleeping and getting her energy back.  She said that she didn't like that shot that she got at the hospital because it made her sleepy!  After her rest, I was busy getting ready for the day and here she comes to show me how proud she is because she could write her name with her left hand since her right arm is broken. I am afraid this won't slow this girl down at all!

Coincidentally, she did break her arm on March 31, however, the setting of her arm happened April 1st.  I took a picture of her  X-ray and text it to family and friends to make them aware of what happened to her and no, this wasn't no April Fool's joke!
