Easter Sunday

That sneaky Easter Bunny didn't seem to show up this morning for the kids to wake up to before church.  He decided to wait until we were to church before he filled their baskets.  He must have had a very busy night and to try and get it all done before they were up and ready for church was probably more than he could do.  Luckily, when we got home, their baskets were still sitting in the front room, but this time full of candy and stuff.

All four kids were thrilled beyond measure at their new treasures.  McKenna was most excited about her new shirt and sandals.  Trey was sporting new khaki shorts and button shirt and the little girls each got their own denim bib overall shorts with a cute shirt.  Of course, that was one smart bunny because they each got their own bag of Cadbury eggs.  Which of course make the holiday complete!

After they had a chance to change out of their church clothes to their new Easter outfits, they decided to go find their Easter Eggs. Little did they know that while they were gone to church, the Easter Bunny hid all their eggs.  It was quite a challenging hunt and who knows if we did end up collecting them all.   Some of our egg cartons seemed a bit empty, but the kids weren't sure what they had left over from yesterday's picnic.  If not, I imagine they will show up eventually.

After our Easter Egg hunt, the kids had fun just hanging out and going through their all their stuff in their Easter baskets.  We had the pleasure of having Grandma and Grandpa Okerlund over for Sunday dinner.  I feel bad that I didn't get a picture of my kids with them, because as always, they love to have family over to eat and hang out!

It ended up being a very enjoyable Easter holiday.  The only bittersweet moment to the weekend was the fact that our Grandma Loriane Anderson passed away yesterday, March 26, 2016.  She was so dear to our hearts and we will miss her dearly.  It makes me appreciate even more the plan of Salvation and the true reason we celebrate Easter.  I had to  teach Young Women's today on the resurrection and what a comfort it is to know that we can all return to live in the presence of our Heavenly Father someday.  So grateful that Families can be together Forever.
