The first day of school at our house always brings so much excitement. The kids woke up early, like 6:30 am and was ready to get ready for their big days. As part of the excitement, I have always laid out their outfits and backpacks for them in the front room. It almost like Christmas morning when they wake up and come in the front room to see what is laid out for them. Yes, they have all picked out their own outfits and shoes, but it is fun to put the paper that I have printed out for what grade they are going into.
One nice thing about the rising early is that we all have time to eat a nice breakfast together. This morning, I made them French Toast, a definite family favorite. Usually after the first day, the kids aren't as up as early, so between getting ready and hair done, there isn't a lot of time for breakfast, other than a piece of toast or a bowl of cereal!
