Fun Filled Weekend!

Well the day had finally arrived, the day that we have been looking forward to for months.  It was finally the day to go watch the Utah Jazz play basketball in Salt Lake City.  Back in October when Trey signed up for Jr. Jazz Basketball, we were given the opportunity to purchase extra Jazz tickets so we could attend the Jazz game as a family.   So, as you may guess, we were all pretty excited to get to go to Salt Lake to watch this game.  But to even make it more fun was the fact that we were able to stay in a hotel and have a sleepover!

We left Gunnison in the early afternoon since we knew we had a few stops to make along the way.  Since none of us had ever been to the City Creek shopping mall in downtown Salt Lake, we decided to wait and eat once we got there.  This worked out great because we were all able to get our own choice of supper from the food court.  Afterwards, we wandered out the shopping area before we decided that we wanted to get to the game.

The anticipation of watching the Jazz had finally arrived.  We made it to the Energy Solutions Arena and found our seats up near the top of the arena.  Jeremy and Allyson were able to enjoy the game from our seats, while McKenna, Lottie, and I roamed the halls as we watched the game on the TV's.  Trey had a blast hanging out with Carter Hill.  It ended up being a great game for the Jazz, the won the Washington Wizards 103 to 102.

All this excitement made us all pretty tired.  We made it to our hotel in Orem in pretty good time and it wasn't long before we were all out!

Sunday morning, we got up and got ready for the day.  We ended up grabbing a quick breakfast from the store before we headed to Springville.  Tyler and Ashley were blessing baby Erin today, so it worked out great for us to make a fun filled weekend out of it!  We went to Tyler and Ashley's to get ready before it was time to go to church.  It was fun to see Brynn and McKenna show up in the same dress, totally not planned, but oh so beautiful.

After sacrament meeting, we headed over to the clubhouse for a delicious lunch.  This was so much for everyone to sit around and visit and gave the kids plenty of room to run around.  It was even nice enough that the kids spent time outside on the playground.

We just love this newest addition to the Okerlund family.  Baby Erin is a total doll and is already known for her modeling only hours after she was born for her cuteness and all that hair.

Even though we had a lot of fun, everyone was glad to be home, especially Lottie and Ally.  Lottie went right to work making sure all her babies and animals were laying down, covered in their blanket, all ready for bed.  All this in the midst of our bags from the weekend.

And then there was Ally who went right to work teaching school to her play friends.  She had her desk all set up and the others were so attentive in listening to her instruction!

And our evenings would not be the same if we didn't have little Lottie running around with her feathers.  I caught this picture of her with the feather in her mouth, it almost looks like she has grown a mustache.  Oh, what she doesn't do and get in too!

Oh how I love the memories that we make as a family.  This weekend was so much fun, yet flew by way to fast.  It is just too bad we have to get up and face the week all over again.
