Junior Jazz

Trey had an awesome season this year in Junior Jazz Basketball.
The season games started off mid November with practices every Thursday night and games every Saturday.  There were four teams in the 3rd and 4th grade level, so it worked out that Trey and his team were able to play each team twice.  Trey played aggressive every game and was not afraid to shoot the ball.  The following is a breakdown of the season's scores with the amount of points Trey made:  Game 1 - Win 30 to 4, Trey scored 8; Game 2 - Win 20 to 18, Trey scored 12; Game 3 - Missed for NFR; Game 4 - Win 32 to 8, Trey scored 16; Game 5, Win 21 to 14, Trey made 5; Game 6 - Lost 18 to 16, Double OT, Trey scored 2.  Playoff Game - Win 24 to 6, Trey made 13; Championship Game - Lost 16 to 14, Trey scored 7.

Trey's team lost one game in the regular schedule games, which left them going into playoff setting in first place.  He was pretty excited to be playing the team that his best friend Shea Anderson was on.  It was a close game with the lead going back and forth the entire game, however, it did not turn out to be in Trey's team favor with the buzzer ended.  Trey's team lost the Championship game by two points.  Even though they lost, they all played well and were all really good sports about it.  It must have been the medals that they received that made them all smile.

Trey with his best friend Shea, they both love the game of basketball!

The above picture shows off Trey's Junior Jazz jersey, his medal for participating in the hoop shoot and his medal for placing 2nd place in the season.  One thing about playing basketball was he knew he would get a new pair of ball shoes, he was pretty excited for the season to start so he could start wearing his new shoes.  He had saved up his money and been scoping out the Eastbay website for weeks to find that perfect pair of shoes.

Several days after the championship game, the team got together for a celebration party.  We were assigned to bring a treat to share with the other players.  I told Trey we could make rice krispie treats, they were easy to make and everyone likes them.  He decided that he wanted to make them look like basketballs, so we ended up decorating them with basketball lines and the Nike logo.  He was so excited to take them to share.  At this party, the coach awarded each of the boys a certificate for their achievements, Trey was excited that he was awarded the 'High Point Award' for his team.  He by far out scored the other kids, so this award was definitely well earned!

Great Season Trey!  You are Awesome!
