The story of Trey's two teeth actually started several weeks ago when he claimed he had two loose teeth and that he wished we could pull both of them out. On occasion, we would let me get a washcloth in hand to try and get a hold of one of those teeth and yank it out. But every time we tried, he seemed to get a little panicked and scared and ended up giving up on us trying to help him out.
Well, Saturday night, he knew at least one of the two were ready to be pulled, we just needed to reach in and pull it out. I was the lucky one that tried to grasp the tooth and with little luck, was not able to get a hold of the tooth. A lot of it was because Trey kept trying to knock my hands out of his mouth every time I was close enough to get hold. Finally, I made him clasp his hands together behind his back to I could pull the tooth. I finally did grab it, yanked, and nothing came out. Trey was upset because it hurt and then he ended up bleeding everywhere. I convinced him to give it up and to keep wiggling it until it really is ready to be pulled out.
Sunday arrived and to church we went. He sat with us for a while, but after the sacrament was passed, he decided to go sit with Grandma JoAnn and Dillon. During one of the speakers, all of a sudden JoAnn and Trey get up and leave sacrament. I couldn't figure out what was wrong and if Trey needed something, he could have got up and gone alone. After about 10 minutes, here come Trey and JoAnn back into sacrament, sat down with smirks on both their faces. I was totally confused on what those two could have been up to, but with a quick glimpse of Trey's smiles and the opening he had on his top row of teeth, I knew right then that they had walked out into the hall to pull Trey's tooth! Trey would not leave it alone, to the point that he was starting to drive Grandma JoAnn crazy. She finally convinced him that she could pull it out and much to his surprise, it worked! He came home from church with this tooth wrapped up in a tissue in his pocket and so proud that it finally came out!
Later that night, he was telling Dillon that he actually had another loose tooth that needed to be pulled. With a little convincing, Dillon had Trey in the bathroom, wrapping dental floss around his other loose tooth thinking he could pull it out. I didn't think this tooth was loose enough to be pulled, let alone to be yanked out with a piece of dental floss. But boy was I wrong! Once Dillon got a nice knot tied into the floss, it wasn't more than just one yank and out came his second tooth. Purely crazy. We all just laughed at how easy that tooth came out!
So there you have it, two teeth in one day. I can't believe it and either can Trey!
The last time Trey lost two teeth in one day was so traumatizing, I wondered if he would ever recover from it, but today was not bad!
So luckily for him, he made pretty good money that night! The tooth fairy stopped by to deliver. Funny thing of it was, when he woke up he could only find one dollar, so he was feeling like he might have got jipped a little like a two for one deal! It wasn't until after school that day that he went up to his bedroom and with just the right glimpse to his bedroom floor, did he see another dollar bill rolled up for him from the tooth fairy. He did end up making one dollar for each tooth!
