Grandpa O's Birthday

Tonight we all got together to celebrate Grandpa Don's 68th Birthday!  Not only is it a reason to celebrate his birthday, but we also got together to celebrate the fact that he is on the mend from several weeks of medical issues that we all feel blessed have been discovered and now on the mend.

My kids would be the first to admit it is always so fun to get together with cousins to hang out, so being as Justin and Tammy's house, they never want to leave.  Can you blame them, look at this cute group of kiddos!  We ate dinner and dessert (or burnt offerings) that Mary would call them! Always fun to be together with family!

This Grandpa of ours has been through a lot lately.  I, however, don't think he could have asked for a better birthday present than the one the doctors gave him on Tuesday, March 3rd.  For a very long time now, he has been treated for Afib of the heart; this has been an on going dilemma now for years.  Well, Tuesday afternoon he went back to Murray to the IMC hospital to check his blood levels and Afib, and the update was he was finally out of afib, all on his own.  No ablation, shock, or medicine put him back in rhythm.    Grandma O said that when the doctors left the room, tears started streaming down his face.  With a lot of emotion, he said, "Prayers have truly been answered".  I am grateful for this man, he has a heart of gold.  I to also know that prayers have been answered, he is a walking miracle.  It is amazing to think that 17 years ago he had an 8 by-pass open heart surgery.  Since that day, he fought to keep that heart of his going.  Through lots of up and downs, he senses when something is wrong and immediately gets things checked out.  It strengthens my testimony knowing too that "Prayers have truly been answered".  Love you Grandpa O!
