Halloween 2014!
Can I just say what a fun day!It is hard to believe that Halloween is here
and boy do we have a houseful of excited spooks!
McKenna was excited to get up and get dressed up in her new costume so she could go to school as a Super Woman. Thursday night, her and several of her friends were at our house and I helped make three other super hero skirts. Each of her friends were different heroes and from the sounds of it, made a pretty cute bunch of girls. The girls that dressed up with her were McKaylyn Edwards, Halle Bjerrguaard, Paige King, and Kennedy Hall.
Jeremy couldn't wait to get dressed up and head to work this morning. He had it all planned out that he would come to the door and ring the door bell to make someone come and open the door for him. Because of the office security, the doors remained lock 24/7, so Jeremy figured he would be more convincing if he didn't use his keypad that day. The guys in the office were a little nervous at first see this guy walk through the front door. But the seriousness didn't last too long that Jeremy didn't have them laughing their heads off. All the guys at work wanted to eat at El Mexicano today and they didn't think Jeremy would dare walk in there dressed like this. Well, obviously, they don't know Jeremy very well because he walked in there and he laughed because he almost felt like a celebrity with the guys from the office being his body guard. He got all kinds of looks and actually had an old lady hit on him, she liked him for his hair!
Because the elementary school won't let the kids dress up, they decided to still look festive. Ally was really looking forward today because I was the room mom for their class party that day. We stayed up the night before and covered 25 juice boxes in white tissue paper. Ally then took a sharpie and drew the faces and the word boo on each box. We also made a whole bunch of rice krispie pumpkins to share with her classmates, which of course were a huge hit!
After school was out, the kids were super excited to come home and get dressed up. The weather was perfect for a Friday night, so they knew they could lots of trick or treating done on a night like tonight. I made the traditional sloppy joe dinner and they couldn't eat fast enough that they wanted to go and get started. McKenna ended up going with her friends, but only after I got a few pictures of them. Trey had his good friend Kort Sorensen come over to go trick or treating with him.
We trick or treated all night long. I had Trey, Kort, Allyson, Lottie and Brexton Neal with me. We started in Centerfield and worked our way to the north side of Gunnison. We tried to hit as many houses as we could before it got too late. Everyone knows who give the good treats, so those house were all a must to stop and trick or treat, who wants to pass up a regular size candy bar or pop? The kids had so much fun and of course, so did I. Their smiles on their faces were priceless.
