Anderson Family Christmas Party

The Anderson Family Chrsitmas Party would not be quite the party if we didn't have Grandma Loraine to share it with.  She recently fell and got pretty bruised up, but she along with everyone else felt fortunate that she is still up and going strong.  I feel so fortunate to know her and that my kids are able to share such a close relationship with her.

The Anderson Christmas party was complete once Maddie showed up.  It was a complete surprise for Ally and Lottie to see her, so it made the party that much more fun to share it with her and the twins.

Look at those smiles, both girls are toothless.  Can you believe it is the same front tooth on both of them that is missing with the other tooth loose enough that it too is not far behind.

Allyson and our cute cousin Taylor.

After a nice lunch, we let the kids play their exchange gift game.  Trey felt pretty lucky that he was one of the very first one's to draw from the gift table.  Little did he know, it does not pay to be first. He went to one of the biggest gifts on the table, and what did he open up but a soft fluffy lady bug.  He was quite embarrassed that is what he possibly be stuck with.

But the luck did come his way because Lottie had a number a little further down the line, so she was able to steal that gift from Trey, leaving it open for him to either open a new gift or steal one from a cousin.  He walked away happy, not only did he get rid of his pink lady bug but he was able to walk away with UnderArmor socks and the DVD movie 'Rudy'.  What a win-win situation.  Lottie couldn't have been happier.  Anything stuffed animal, she is happy with.

Ally received a Frozen themed box with lip gloss for her present and Maddie was excited for her new giant Barbie coloring book.

The adult white elephant gift exchange started once the kids were all happy.  I was kinda like Trey,  ended up being one of the first ones to draw from the pile.  I should have known when the I picked the boot box, that I would end up winning the white reindeer.  This along with a gold rocking horse are the two gifts that are supposed to come back to the game every year.  Ally was pretty upset that I didn't get anything better, in fact she had her fingers crossed the entire game hoping someone would pick my gift to leave it open for me to go steal one from someone else.  Too bad it didn't happen and home with us goes the ugly white reindeer.  Lottie thinks its awesome, it almost as tall as her!  Dillon walked away with the reindeer that sings 'Grandma got ran over by a reindeer'.

Jeremy opened a package of playdoh and a jar of peanuts.  McKenna was excited for her season 2 DVD of Duck Dynasty, of course she wouldn't let me get a picture of her.

Sabe ended up with the nice pair of pink underwear that had Beatiful printed on the rear end.  Leave it to Jeremy to model them off!

Grandma Loraine makes sure that when the games are though, she takes a minute to express her gratitude and love for each of her family members, then she likes to present her gifts.  This year she gave each of the great-grandkids a one dollar bill, the grandkids received a handmade wash cloth and her six kids each get a doily.  She starts in January of each year to make sure she has plenty of time to make sure these are all made in time for our Christmas party.

Trey and McKenna were asked by Darcy and Julie to play Christmas music at the party.  They both enjoyed playing the Christmas music on the piano that they have worked so hard to learn for the past several weeks.  I love that they are able to share their talents at parties like this.
