Our Ward Christmas Party always starts out with the kids having the opportunity to meet up with Santa. Usually, this is the one place that I can get all four kids together for one picture with the man in the red suit! It has been fun to look back at year's past photos to see how much they have changed over the past few years.
This year, McKenna decided not to write her letter to Santa, she just wanted to tell him. She asked him for clothes, a Shellac nail light, and surprises.
Trey always has such a long list, but I think for Santa he narrowed it down to a basketball hoop, new cowboy boots, and surprises.
Allyson, of course, is showing the old man her loose tooth and then once her show and tell was over, she asked Santa for an Isabelle American Girl doll, an ipod, and high heel boots.
Lottie was kind of bashful, so she just told Santa she wanted a bicycle. Luckily she stayed on his lap for one picture with just her and then one of all four before she was ready to be done.
After the kids had their chance to meet Santa, the food and program followed. We had a delicious meal and an excellent turn our of ward members. When dinner was almost over, the Primary kids were called back to get ready for the program. Each year the Primary is in charge of putting on the program of the nativity for our party and each year it is a huge success.
Since Trey is one of the oldest boys in Primary, he was asked to narrate the program with Ross Peterson. He was pretty excited to do this, a lot more fun for him than to dress up! Allyson was excited to play the part as one of the angels. She looked so cute and just beamed on stage.
So proud of Trey and Allyson; they both did such a wonderful job in tonight's performance of the Nativity. I love that the kids are able to act out our Savior's birth, not only is it fun for them but I think there is lot to be said about what they really learn in participating in such a special event.
Everyone had such a fun night. We feel so fortunate to come from such a wonderful ward.
