Allyson has been to practice every day this week to prepare herself for tonight's big pageant. She has absolutely loved each and every minute of this pageant and all the work that has lead up to it. Her practices started Monday thru Wednesday, right after school. Each day they would spend an hour learning the production number, working on the on stage interview, and modeling. The one day they let those girls that were performing a talent, practice it on stage. Ally not only loved the practices, but she was so excited for the prize she received each day.
With the theme of the pageant this year being 'Cinderella', everything they did was tied to that theme. So the first day, each girl received a plastic, glass like looking slipper, with an added bonus of pearl colored sixlets with the slipper. Allyson couldn't wait to get home to display this cute shoe on her dresser. On Tuesday, each of the girls received a cute necklace with the stage coach charm attached, and then on Wednesday, each of the girls received their own pageant t-shirt.
So it the night of the pageant finally arrived and Allyson was pretty excited. She did awesome. The girls all started out on stage to perform their main production number. Allyson was pretty bashful when it came time for her to come to the front of the stage and wave at the audience, she just was a little shy. She did however, come up to the microphone and announce her name with out any hesitation.
After the production number, each of the girls came out on the stage for their one on one on stage interview. Allyson answered her questions so good and smiled ear to ear. From there, they moved on to the talent section of the show. Allyson had debated all week on whether or not to dance. I am so glad she did, she did so good. She and McKenna worked on a dance on Monday, but Allyson thought some of what McKenna wanted her to do was to hard, so Ally came up with her own thing. She made me write the moves down in a notebook, so I could help her memorize what she wanted to do. She even picked out her own music, which was 'Roar' by Katy Parry. Honestly, I was quite impressed with what she came up with and how well she had it memorized. Granted it was about a minute long, but it was pretty good for her to learn and do that in only a few days!
After the talent portion, they moved onto the sportswear / hobby portion of the pageant. Each of the girls wore just a cute outfit that they liked to wear and felt comfortable in. Allyson looked really cute in her pink outfit and made a quick walk on and off the stage. As each of the girls modeled their sportswear outfit, the little bit of information that was submitted with the application was read about each girl. Allyson couldn't wipe the smile off her face as they read the facts about her. Especially when they read the part the one thing that makes her unique is because she is such a loveable little girl. Always looking to share her hugs and kisses, she just grinned ear to ear
From there, they did the crowning portion. Each of the girls received a beautiful crown that night and was awarded for positive, up-lifting things that were noticed by the leaders and other girls through out the week. Allyson's award was for the following attributes: "Sweet person to all; good at following rules; always waits her turn; and she is fun to have as a friend.:
Allyson is pictured with Lauren Christenson, she is currently the 2015 Miss Sanpete Outstanding Teen. Also, she is pictured with Maddee Christenson, the current 2014 Miss Gunnison Valley.
Part of having so much fun in this pageant is who you get to do it with. Allyson's good friend Gratia Mellor also did this pageant with her, so her and Ally have had a lot of fun being here together. These two are besties at school, so they are fun to see them together outside of the classroom.
And of course, nothing beats having the support of your family at events like this. Little Lottie is one of Allyson's biggest cheerleaders and she couldn't wait to get up on stage with Allyson. Gotta love those two together.
Allyson, I am so proud of you tonight and how well you performed. You are such a darling, loveable girl which makes it so fun for me to watch you on stage. Thanks for being you, you make your dad and I so proud. Keep up the good work because whatever you set your mind too, you will succeed.
