Fun Day at Lagoon

 * America On Stage *
National Dance Competition
LAGOON

Let the competition begin!  This girls showed up to Lagoon today to dance her little heart out.  She has a busy day ahead of her and she is ready to show off all that she has worked for over the past several months.  In April, McKenna and her dance team competed in the local 'America on Stage' dance competition where they won and qualified to compete on the National level.  This qualification is what got them to Lagoon today.

The Diamonds team did awesome!  There were several other teams in their same division and these girls pulled of a 1st Place in both of their performances.

McKenna and Teersa also did a great job.  They competed in the Jr. Hip Hop division for duets and they too, pulled of a 1st place.  It was so fun to watch these girls dance!

Not only did we get to watch a lot of dancing, but we also got in a lot of playing too!  McKenna, Trey, Monica and I pulled into Lagoon and hit the rides as quick as we could.  McKenna did not have to dance until later afternoon, so we knew we had quite a while to play before we had to be at the pavilion dancing.

The first ride we rode was the Jet Star and then off to Tidal Wave.  McKenna and Monica wanted to ride the bigger rides that Trey and I did not want too, so we went our separate ways.  Trey and I went to the Haunted House and then we were lucky enough to hook up with Mary, Kambree and Laynee.  They wanted to go on the old roller coaster, so the four of them went and I held back.

It was fun to be with Mary, Kambree, and Laynee today.  We rode the Log Ride, the Bat, and several other rides with them today.  It made it nice because Mary and I could take turns sitting back while the other one of us took these three to play.

Trey is a good sport to go and play and then patient enough to watch all the dancing.  I guess it is a lifestyle he will have to get used too with three sisters!  It was fun for me to spend the day with him.  When McKenna was getting ready to dance, Trey would either go with myself or

I was proud of Trey this year, he took the challenge and rode a lot of the scarier rides this year.  I spent a lot of time with McKenna waiting and in the meantime, Trey and Monica went and rode the Colasses and Cliff Hanger several times.

Once the competition was over for McKenna, I thought that those three kiddos would be ready to be done.  Boy was I wrong, they wanted to keep going.  They rode several of the rides a couple more times before I practically had to drag them out of there.   We were all completely wore out, but it was worth all the fun!

I am so glad that I was able to share this day with these two!  I love the memories that we made spending the day together.  I am so grateful that Grandma JoAnn was able to watch Ally and Tyra.  It would have been an extremely long day in the sun for those two.
