First Day of School 2015

Well today marks that day that Allyson and I have long been waiting for, McKenna and Trey not so much!  Yes, that is the first day of school.  Allyson has been excited and ready for weeks now, I mean ready with her pencil box ready, her backpack packed and her first day outfit laid out.  In fact, she was so excited that she woke me up about 4:00 am to ask me how many more hours until morning.  Luckily, she was able to fall back to sleep and woke up with such a smile!  McKenna and Trey have over the past few days started showing a little bit of excitement.  I wonder if its the nerves  of moving to a new school that holding their excitement back.  Deep down, even though I know they wouldn't admit it, they are looking forward to getting back to school, to get in routine, and to be able to hang out more with their friends.

McKenna was too embarrassed to turn for a photo.  She was holding back to walk in with someone so she didn't walk in alone.  I tried to tell her I would go in with her, but that would be way to embarrassing.  Luckily a few familiar faces saved her and she didn't take the this big step alone!  McKenna's first day of high school went great.  I think of all three of them starting today, for some reason McKenna was the one I was most nervous for today.   She said her classes were great, everyone loved her clothes, and she loved hanging out with all the drill team girls at lunch.

Trey, on the other hand, turned and posed for his picture.  I think this boy is pretty excited about his day.  I am nervous for him, starting a whole new routine with a new school is a bit intimidating, but Trey and I guess boys  in general, tend to not stress over the small stuff, so I know he will be fine!  His first response when he got home from school was "It was awesome!".  He liked his all his teachers, liked his classes, and just hanging out with his buddies.  He said that Mr. B already gave him his nickname for the year, Tuf Cooper, which Trey thought that was pretty cool!

We got Bulldog greetings when we walked into the elementary school today and boy was that so fun.  Mr. Bulldog came right up to Allyson and gave her a big old hug.  I knew it had to be a familiar face that knew her because not all of the students got quite the greeting that these girls got.  Even Lottie was in for the fun on a meet and greet with the Bulldog!

Allyson loved the entire day!  I bet you couldn't have wiped that smile off her face all day!  She was so ready for school to start that we couldn't count down the days fast enough.  To hear about her day, so was most excited about all the stuff her teacher had ready for her on her desk, new pencils, crayons, binders, books, and her very own water bottle.  Everything was labeled with her name on it.  Early Friday morning, when getting ready for  the second day of school, Allyson said that she needed to get to school really early and so I asked her why.  She said that before school starts is the only time they can fill up their water bottles, so she wanted to make sure she got there in time to fill hers up before school started, if not she would have to miss part of recess to do it and she didn't want that!!!
