Today, Trey's 6th Grade football team were up against the Millard Eagles. Game time was at noon in Fillmore at the Millard High School football field. These boys were pumped to play and couldn't wait to prove to their coaches that they could win this game. There was a bet going into today's game that if the boys won, they could shave Coach Lud's head on Monday at practice and then Lane Wescott said he would double the score that they won by and do that many push ups at their next practice. So with a little incentive, these boys were ready!
The Gunnison boys played awesome offense and defense the entire game. They were able to hold the Millard team good enough to not let them even get a chance to score. With about a minute left in the game, the Millard team was on their 80 yard line and had a long way to go to score a touchdown. Their play was to throw it out to their wide receiver and hopefully let them run a touchdown. Well Trey was at the right place at the right time and the ball went off the tip of the Millard players hand, right into Trey's arms. Trey was able to catch this awesome interception and run a touchdown for his team. He was so pumped and the boys just came into the end zone giving him high fives!
The smile on Trey's face was priceless and the team's reaction was awesome. He was so excited to finally make a touchdown, but better to intercept the ball to do so!
The Gunnison boys ended up winning 32 to 0! So bring on Monday for these boys, they can't wait to shave their coaches head and watch Lane do 64 pushups!
